I set myself a little challenge to read some books I wouldn't usually read and I started off with The Great Gatsby. It's fair to say that it didn't really grip me; it is left on my bedside table with the bookmark stuck half way through. I just can't bring myself to pick it up again; if anyone has read it and would like to persuade me otherwise please do!
So carrying on with my book challenge I decided to give Anna Karenina a go. The lovely Vicki from Let's Talk Beauty lent me the most amazing old copy which had been passed down to her. So far I am loving it, but I think it has a lot to do with the pretty book and the old book smell. I do love my Kindle but I am setting it aside for a while and focusing on finishing this book (but I do have Silver Linings Playbook on my Kindle, just waiting to be read). My challenge was to read some books from the BBC book list and I'm thinking of trying Rebecca next; I know a lot of people who love this book so I'm hoping it will keep me motivated. Has anyone read any of these books and what did you think? I could do with some reading inspiration!

| A lovely old edition of Anna Karenina |

I am ashamed to admit I had been reading this on my Kindle & had never even opened this. It has been sitting on my book shelf for years unloved.
ReplyDeleteWhen you have finished I am going to read it.
You definitely should, it is nice to put the Kindle aside occasionally. I'm like you, I love my Kindle but I will always love real books more.
DeleteRebecca is great- I love it!
ReplyDeleteI have heard from a lot of people who love it too so I think I will definitely be giving that a go next!
